The regeneration of The Whiteley represents a truly unique and privileged opportunity to transform an entire neighbourhood in the heart of London. It is exciting to be able to restore this historic landmark for 21st century life.

The Whiteley

A great location

Nestled in London’s affluent Bayswater, an urban-rich environment close to Hyde Park, Notting Hill and Paddington, this landmark Grade II listed building was built in the 1800’s by William Whiteley.

The redevelopment of The Whiteley in Bayswater, W2 will transform the northern end of Queensway and bring much needed investment to a location which is within walking distance of Hyde Park and Notting Hill in Central London. Bayswater is one of the few remaining undeveloped areas surrounding the park.

The Whiteley

An iconic building

Created by William Whiteley in 1911, the iconic Grade II listed was once the first department store in London. More recently in the 1980’s it was redeveloped into a shopping centre and offers an unparalleled regeneration opportunity in Prime Central London.

Queensway Parade regeneration

The Whiteley is undergoing a complete redevelopment in parallel with MARK’s regeneration of Queensway Parade, which faces the building. Designed by Foster + Partners, The Whiteley is epic in scale and proportion, with retained and restored Grade II-listed features providing the context for 139 world-class, modern residences, 20 new shops and restaurants, a cinema, a large-scale gym, a high profile public arts programme and London’s flagship Six Senses hotel and spa with 110 rooms, as well as its social wellness club. A joint-venture development between MARK and C C Land, The Whiteley is set to complete in 2023.
